week 12

Week 12. What a week. Turning 28... telling the world about this new addition to our family... having our 12 week ultrasound... it's been a good and emotional last few days. 

Feeling: Less tired at night, more tired during the day/afternoon. More excited after going to the ultrasound. There's a real baby in there! 

Not feeling: hard boiled eggs. At least I don't have morning sickness. 

Weight gain: 1 lb based on the doctor's scale on Thursday.

Planning: on buying the tile for the guest bathroom... eventually. And cleaning out the dresser drawers in what will be the nursery. 

Projects: finishing up the paint in the guest bathroom, along with new faucets and a mirror, guest bedroom trim paint and adding some crown molding. 

Best thing this week: The ultrasound at the 12 week checkup! That little baby in there was moving around so much, the ultrasound tech seemed surprised. The baby was doing flips, moving back and forth across my belly, doing squats at one point, and generally seeming annoyed (s)he was getting disturbed, or showing off, excited for an audience. Those little baby hands were going up near his/her face, then towards the end of it, (s)he was in a definite shoulder stand pose. While this was an awesome experience, it also made us realize we want to do as few ultrasounds as possible.

Another fun thing this week: our CrossFit friend's 30th birthday party on Friday night. Every week I'm amazed at all the new friends we have made, and happy to be reconnected with old ones. I definitely feel that moving back to my hometown was the right move for us. 

Workouts: ahh, CrossFit. I feel like I am dragging myself through mud. I have started research on what/how to modify for the second trimester, but my doctor is still telling me to do what I feel comfortable with.
